Nômade spent the spring as a rendering. Boca Magazine reported in May that the Westport, Connecticut restaurant was coming to Boca with hand-woven baskets, Moroccan glassware, and a marble bar. It opened June 6 at 6030 SW 18th Street in the Shops at Village Pointe, in the endcap that used to be Walt's American Grille and, before that, an Outback Steakhouse. The Boca Raton Tribune has already reviewed it. If you did not catch the coverage, you are still waiting for a grand opening that happened almost three months ago.
That is the trap right now if you live in or near Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club and you are tracking what is new to eat in town. Some of the places on everyone's radar have been seating guests for months. Others are still renderings on a construction fence. Confusing the two means either showing up somewhere that has been open since spring and acting surprised, or waiting for a table that does not exist yet.
Why this August looks different
The usual rhythm downtown is predictable. October through April belongs to the snowbirds, the galas, and a Mizner Park reservation calendar that punishes anyone who tries to walk into a Saturday dinner without a plan. Then May clears out and the assumption has always been that the city goes quiet with the season.
This year the assumption is off. Several restaurants that spent the winter as "coming soon" signage have actually opened, the city ran a full slate of free summer programming downtown, and the crowd that would normally fill the new rooms is still somewhere cooler. Use the next couple of weeks well, before Labor Day resets the calendar, and you get a first read on the newest rooms in town without the wait that arrives once the county comes home.

The pattern is worth sitting with. Two of the six already happened, one of them in April, quietly enough that people are still calling it "coming soon." One has gone silent past its target season. The heaviest hitters, the ones that will actually reshape where people eat on a Friday night, do not arrive until the fall wave hits Town Center and Royal Palm Place.
The two already open
MINŌ is the one most people have wrong. It opened in early April at 114 NE 2nd Street, ten seats at the counter and twenty in the lounge, with a sake list built by a sommelier who spent years working with small breweries in Japan. It has been taking reservations all summer. If you have been waiting for an announcement, you missed it by four months.
Nômade is the bigger room and the easier reservation to get on a weeknight. The design is the point: baskets overhead, Moroccan glass on the table, a menu that moves from North Africa to the Mediterranean to Latin America without settling anywhere. Dinner nightly; the Tribune reports brunch is planned for later in the year.
The one in limbo, and the one to watch
Royal Palm Place is the plaza most Royal Palm residents already pass through for coffee or a haircut, and it is where two of the most talked-about openings sit at opposite ends of the timeline. Black Star Bakery was announced for a space near SE 1st Street and Plaza Real South with a spring target that came and went; as of this writing we have not found a posted opening date. Nômade sat in exactly that kind of limbo in May and opened in June, so the first tables will go to whoever happens to walk past that week, not to whoever set a calendar reminder for a press release.
Fletchers, at 133 SE Mizner Boulevard in the same plaza, is the one to watch for the fall: a restaurant and lounge from chef Michael Stember, a former Olympic runner who built his reputation on underground sushi pop-ups in New York and Los Angeles, with a private members club attached. The developer and the chef are both saying fall 2026.
A note for Sunday mornings: the Green Market at Royal Palm Place is seasonal. Last season ran Sundays, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., from early October through early May. It is not running in August; check Royal Palm Place for the new season's start date.
Where the real crowd lands this fall
Town Center has quietly become the higher end of the county's mall dining, and the two arrivals landing there are the ones that will change how people plan a dinner reservation. Felice comes from SA Hospitality Group, built around handmade pasta and a wine list drawn from the family's Tuscan vineyard; Town Center lists it as coming soon without a date. Limani Grille is a different register entirely, Greek seafood over charcoal, and after two years of construction delays Boca Magazine now puts it in the fall.
Neither one has opened. Both are worth knowing about now, if only so you are not the person asking a server in November why the wait is suddenly forty minutes.
The free nights the city already ran
Mizner Park Amphitheater holds about 4,200 people, and the city's free Summer in the City series never comes close to testing that ceiling. This year's run of free tribute concerts went from June 12 through the Battle of the Bands on August 7. That is the version of the venue built for people who live here rather than for the winter headliner crowd, and the city's calendar is where the fall dates will post.
The actual advantage
None of this is really about restaurants. It is about timing. By December, when every local publication runs its roundup of the best new spots in Boca, the answer will already be settled for anyone who spent August finding out firsthand. The tables that are open right now, quietly and without a line, are the same tables that will need two weeks' notice once the fall wave lands and the snowbird calendar resets.
Living in Royal Palm means Royal Palm Place is directly across Camino Real from the community's north edge and Mizner Park is a few minutes beyond it. The next few weeks are the version of that stretch that will not come back until next summer.
